In diversifying Lamborghini's brand premium, its Tonino Lamborghini division have helped to create luxury timepieces, high-end eyewear, furnishing, even a boutique hotel chain in China. However, one product largely missing from its extensive portfolio was a smartphone, till now. To coincide with the holiday shopping season, Tonino Lamborghini unveiled its Antares smartphone. Housed in a handcrafted stainless steel case, a case-back covered in genuine leather helps to convey the design's luxurious aspect. Powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core processor with 1 GB of RAM to spare, the Antares' performance is on par, if not surpass, other Android-base smartphones out in the market now. Quipped with 32 GB internal memory, slot for a 32 GB micro SD card, and a 4-inch touchscreen laminated with Gorilla Glass, the phone also includes a 13 megapixel rear facing camera, plus a 5 megapixel front facing one. Capable of 1080p HD video recording, the phone can also have a HD video playback with Hi-Fi sound, thanks to its built-in Yamaha amplifier and speakers.
Base on the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS platform, programmers customized a user interface featuring all of Lamborghini's signature design elements. Customers can also order other various features, including a case with real 24k gold finish. Just like the cars made by Lamborghini, the company individualized each phone with a unique serial number. Price to start at around $4000 USD, the Antares smartphone by Tonino Lamborghini will be available in China and Russia starting in December, follow by Italy, United Kingdom, and the US in January 2014.
