Born in a small town in Northern Ireland and educated at the London College of Fashion, Jonathan William Anderson was saddled early in his career with the “next big thing” tag. He’s known for his avant-garde take on menswear, which regularly displays blurred lines between the masculine and feminine. He’s also recognized for his ability to deconstruct and reassemble classic materials in interesting and unexpected ways — a sensibility that’s seen in his Fall/Winter 2014 menswear collection, previewed during menswear week in London. Striped cotton shirting loses its sleeves but gains a slinky scarf, while wool flannel trousers are cropped to reveal exposed ankles and high-heeled platform loafers.
