While Nike transforms three of their classic models for the upcoming Superbowl XLVIII match-up, the CFDA and Bloomingdale's get in on the festive action with a range of NFL helmets sure to draw some attention. With the aim of auctioning off each piece to benefit the NFL Foundation, the range of almost 50 helmets include designs from a matte black leather-covered helmet with a leather spikes, to a model marking the NYC skyline, a floral arrangement, and everything in between, which were, in the words of Public School co-designer Maxwell Osborne, "blurs the lines between the NFL's standards and ready-to-wear." In addition to Public School, 47 other CFDA designers contributed to the project, which a debut of the entire project set to occur at Bloomingdale's 59th Street location today, January 15 at 5pm Eastern.
