Samsung Galaxy S5 Announced

Offering more power, more pixels, more security, and even more style, Samsung announces the release of the latest version of their flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5. Instead of focusing on screen size and orientation as they did with previous updates, Samsung targeted functionality and feature upgrades for this release, including the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner that can be used to unlock the phone and help facilitate mobile payments, similar to that offered by the Apple iPhone 5s. The S5 also packs an improved camera, now offering 16-megapixel capability with what the South Korean tech company claims has the fastest autofocus on the market, which can be then displayed on the Galaxy's 5.1-inch HD screen. The S5 also sees a longer battery life - up to 21 hours of talk time per charge - and the inclusion of an "Ultra Power Saving Mode" to extend the device even further. Not enough fun for you? How about an integrated heart rate monitor, a IP67 dust and water resistance-equipped body - no swimming, though! - and integration with their newly announced Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit smartwatches. The Galaxy S5 is scheduled to launch globally on April 11th and will be available on all major US cell carriers, though Samsung hasn't talked prices yet
