Less tamer than the 1990s television series, the Paramount Pictures' new feature film Hercules isn’t a retelling of the mythology either. Instead, it will be a modern day addendum about Greco-Roman mythological hero’s numerous conquest. With director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand) at the helm, the film will feature Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the titled role, Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Reece Ritchie and Ian McShane. Based on the Hercules: The Thracian Wars comic book series penned by Steven Moore and Cris Bolsin, the movie depicts Hercules’ deeds as he led the Thracian Army into battle. Filled with historical intrigues and bloodletting action sequences, Hercules will be in theaters this summer on July 25th.
