Best known for defining the term “outdoor lifestyle”, Barbour made the announcement this week of its collaborative collection with utility vehicle maker Land Rover. Among the world’s most renowned brands, both British icons have transformed the notion of “functionality” in their respective categories. For Barbour, its waterproof yet breathable wax jackets, quilted outerwear, wool knitwear, etc., still serve the British Royal Household today, some 120 years later. Additionally, you will find a variation of the Land Rover Defender along the frontline of Afghanistan, long after it was first introduced in 1947.
Drawing on both labels’ rich heritages, reputations and reliability, the collaborative collection encompasses well-tailored items inspired by the outdoor lifestyle. Catering to both men and women, the designs offer hints of Barbour’s signature quilts, wax fabric and wool knits while incorporating Land Rover’s luxurious trims and colors. At once purpose-oriented and stylish, the Barbour for Land Rover Collection will be in Barbour flagships, Land Rover dealers and specialty stores worldwide this coming fall.
