Just as it makes it debut at the annual Wörthersee festival, we've now got our hands on a series of official images of the new Volkswagen GTI Roadster Concept. With a look that is more than fitting for its name, this sharp, low-cut, two-seater drop-top is a more adventurous take on the GTI, which the carmaker proudly notes is their "most spectacular Golf GTI ever." With designers and engineers essentially operating with free reign, the concept was developed with the goal of pushing both design and power limits as to not only introduce new ideas, but also to draw new bold and vibrant emotions out of VW fans. Under the hood, the powertrain is just as impressive; VW notes that it has a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that produces 503 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough to push the Concept to 60mph in just 3.5 seconds. Inside the cabin, carbon fiber and race-style accessories adorn the car for a supercar feel not usually seen from VW.
