No, this isn’t some April Fools’ Day prank. What you see here is a fully operational pick-up truck from Volkswagen. An one-off concept created for Wörthersee 2014, the annual love-fest of everything VW, Audi, SEAT, and Skoda, the truck is essentially a mobile DJ platform. Formally known as the Volkswagen Amarok Power, it includes a 5,000-watt industrial strength sound system built into the truck bed. Supplied by Pioneer, Allen & Health and Void Acoustics, the unit consists of two mobile speakers, one subwoofer, along with six-speaker, custom-made sound boxes.
Finished in bi-xenon headlights, chrome plated dual exhausts and 22-inch alloy wheels, VW appointed the color coordinated Nappa leather and Alcantara accents to the Amarok Power’s interior. Since all that music would just be background noise without mobility, Volkswagen added a 3.0-liter V6 TDI powerplant capable of 272 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to its 4MOTION all-wheel drive, you can even pull along a party bus to your next gig with its 6,613 lbs towing capacity.
The Volkswagen Amarok Power Pick-Up Truck Concept is currently on view at the Wörthersee 2014 festival in Austria.
