Over the past few years, power pop band OK Go treated fans to music videos that took the art form to new heights, whether it was elaborate treadmill-based dance routines or an even more elaborate one-shot take centered around a giant Rube Goldberg machine. The L.A.-based quartet follows up on those feats with a new video "The Writing's on the Wall," the lead single off the upcoming Hungry Ghosts. The video showcases several sets of mind-bending optical illusions, appearing as a continuous four-minute shot. Among the video's bag of tricks, there are manipulations of perspective in the style of artist Felice Varini, as well as hidden messages that can be seen only when viewed at the right angle. Taking nearly three weeks to assemble and 50 takes to get right, the video can be viewed below.
