The visuals in FKA Twigs' (or Formerly Known As Twigs) video for “Two Weeks” are gloriously distracting – so much so, that it’s forgivable to let her sultry vocals slide into the background hidden behind the veneer of an ancient Egyptian temple complete with choreographed movements from bronzed bodies. Then at the 50 second mark the sound explodes. The lone voice becomes layered, the music increases in complexity, and the scene opens as the camera pans – always Twigs at center.
“Two Weeks” is the second video from FKA Twigs, who first gained notoriety with the release of “Water Me”; and is the first single from her debut album LP1, which is scheduled to release on August 12, 2014. While little is known about the mysterious singer born Tahliah Barnett, we’re looking forward to LP1.
