For tomorrow's 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, adidas will be lacing up its athletes in a special-edition Energy Boost Icon cleat, the first non-running adidas shoe to feature Boost technology. Built for the five-tool player, the shoe also features shockvent windows for maximum ventilation and an external heel clip for peak stability. The design motif is inspired by the Midsummer Classic's home state, Minnesota, aka The Land of 1000 Lakes. In addition to a water-like reflective print across the Damascus upper, bright solar blue coloring and solar red accents take inspiration from the Minnesota Twins' team colors. Look for the Phillies' Chase Utley and Yankees pitching phenom Dellin Betances to wear the cleats tomorrow night, and expect limited quantities of the shoe to launch through select retailers later this week.
