The Reebok Pump Blacktop Battleground was designed with one thing in mind: standing up to the rigors of outdoor basketball. Introduced in 1991, the high-top design featured Pump technology in the tongue, a Hexalite tech for added cushioning, and a high abrasion rubber outsole that helped it last throughout the entire summer. Over 20 years later, Reebok has reintroduced the Blacktop Battleground in several colorways, including this “Tribal” pattern. The sneaker features a grey suede and white leather upper, layered atop multi-colored geometric patterns on canvas along with smaller hits of black canvas. The black and white midsole sits atop a Gum sole, with the signature orange basketball Pump rounding out the package. These are starting to find their way onto retailer’s shelves, and you can pick up a pair right now at Sneaker Politics.
