Back when hip-hop was less about fame and fortune, but rather about the destitute nature and impoverished surroundings of America’s inner cities, rapper KRS-One (Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone) found his calling. Already known for his controversial views and straightforward commentaries , the artist started Stop the Violence Movement during the late 80s when friend and DJ Scott La Rock was gunned down in the Bronx. The tragedy also spurred him to produce By All Means Necessary, a transformative album which highlighted all the ailments found in today’s society.
To mark the album’s importance and contributions made by KRS-One over the years, as well as the 25th anniversary release of his By All Means Necessary album, Supreme designed a limited t-shirt series for its Fall/Winter 2014 Collection. Featuring By All Means Necessary’s original cover/sleeve art, the tees come in either black or white and will be available via Supreme’s store locations later this year.
