Just yesterday we previewed what Nike bills an "unprecedented amalgamation" of the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 and the Air Jordan 3, and now we get an official look at the NikeCourt Zoom Vapor AJ3 by Jordan. Marking the start of Roger Federer's 2014 New York grand slam bid, the shoe symbolizes the championship mindset of both Federer and Jordan. Their twin obsessions have a common denominator in Tinker Hatfield, who created signature shoes for both transcendent athletes, albeit decades apart.
Those shoes -- the Vapor 9.5 and Air Jordan 3 -- form the basis of the subsequent NikeCourt Zoom Vapor AJ3, highlighting the performance innovation of the Vapor 9.5 and the off-court appeal of the Air Jordan 3. In practical terms, that means Nike's Dynamic Fit technology, which adapts the sneaker to the wearer’s foot, is employed alongside a Nike Zoom unit housed in a phylon midsole. Distinguishing features of the iconic White/Cement colorway of the Air Jordan 3, meanwhile, add stylish flair: a wide Jumpman-embroidered tongue, premium leather, elephant-print panels and Nike Air branding on the heel. An RF logo hit completes the look. The limited edition NikeCourt Zoom Vapor AJ3 by Jordan launches tomorrow at North American NikeLab destinations, Niketown NY, Flight 23, and Nike.com.
