To help push us all over the hump of the week, we'd thought we'd share the just-released information and photos of the 2016 Mercedes AMG GT. Dubbed by the German automaker as an "everyday sports car," the AMG GT combines the styling of the SLS AMG - including its unique front end and prominent grille, air intakes, and LED headlamps - with new innovations in power production. The most distinctive element is the sloping roofline, which drops back to a power-deployable spoiler and compact taillights. Under the hood, buyers have the option of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 462 PS down to the 19-inch alloy wheels for the GT or a twin-turbo V8 that pumps out 519 PS in the GT S to the 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is just as worth noting, with a wide center console, a larger infotainment display, and leather sport seats with chrome and carbon fiber accents. Plenty more is expected over the coming months on the new MB AMG GT line, but until then continue after the jump for a high-speed video and additional angles.
