For Spring/Summer 2015, J.Crew menswear designer Frank Muytjens looks to sun-drenched Mediterranean fishing villages for inspiration. Consequently, the strongly cohesive lineup features loose-fitting chambray pullovers, patchwork denim jeans and maritime stripes on sweaters, woven shirts and bermuda shorts. The color palette indicates J.Crew’s obsession with indigo has yet to wane, which makes sense, as the various blue shades are inspired by the ocean waters of the region. Fans of J.Crew’s exclusive New Balance sneakers will get a sneak preview of upcoming earth-tone colorways, while the rest of us gets a primer on blending casual elements with tailored pieces. Mixing high and low is something J.Crew has always executed with aplomb.
