Would the real Lev Tanju please stand up?
Tired of bland introductory video from past collaborative project by others, PALACE Skateboards' chief instigator Lev Tanju decided to take a humorous route for PALACE’s upcoming collaboration with adidas Originals. With production company Somesuch’s assistance, an open casting call was made for “Female Sports Newsreader,” “Meeting Attendees x 4-6,” “German Boss,” and a character by the name of “Gunther.” While all parts required no previous acting experience, the roles of German Boss and Gunther required the skill of speaking with a German accent. The result is an actor’s portrayal of Tanju, but with an accent slightly east of Germany and in the form of a Russian mob boss (or retired KGB operative).
Scroll down to see the comical video as well as a video by VICE and ASOS with the real Lev Tanju. In the meantime, you can visit the PALACE Skateboards x adidas Originals Pop-Up Shop in New York where the collection will be available starting this Saturday, September 27th.
