Even with Apple iPhone 6’s new 8-Megapixel iSight Camera and a suite of improvements, including Burst Mode, Timer, and Manual Exposure Control, photography enthusiasts still want more. Fortunately for them (and us) start-up Relonch Camera came up with a solution - an accessory packed with a APS-C sized image sensor and a f/2 lens. Simply slide in your iPhone 5 or 6, like you would with any protective case, and connect the two device via Lighting connector. The downloaded software developed by Relonch Camera’s design team will do the rest. You can now upload any of your photos to any social media effortlessly. There is a “Guru” function where you’ll receive tutorial and feedback on your images in real-time. So far, the development team created a working prototype capable of 1-megapixel resolution (versus .5 megapixel or less in the majority of Instagram photos). The team will increase that number and eventually to the maximum resolution that its APS-C sized image sensor allows near the camera’s launch date.
Scheduled for release in late 2015, the Relonch Camera for Apple iPhone 5 and 6 is available to pre-order now for a retail price of $499 USD. In addition, the team is hard at work currently to create a module for the iPhone 6 Plus.
