Founded by the legendary designer Massimo Osti (who also established CP Company and MA.STRUM), apparel label Stone Island helped to promote the practicalities of technical outerwear within the realm of high-end fashion. A garment engineer by training, Osti introduced the garment dyeing process, along with other techniques and treatment process established through experimentation, all are now Stone Island’s design signatures. These standards can also be found on its latest partnership with New York City’s Supreme.
For Fall/Winter 2014, the two industry cornerstones will be introducing a full capsule collection from headwear, base-layer such as sweatshirts, sweatpants and hoodies. The centerpiece of the collection, however, is the Raso Gommato Cover Nero Jacket. An entire outerwear system that starts off with a wind and water-resistant cotton shell, lined removable garment dyed down liner, the jacket includes a removable eye mask with stow away hood, a nod to Osti’s original design. Comes in Black, Yellow, and Camouflage, the jacket along with the rest of Supreme x Stone Island Collection will be available starting this Thursday, October 2nd, at Supreme’s store locations in New York, Los Angeles, and London, follow by another launch across Japan on Saturday, October 4th. The collection will also be available through Supreme’s online store and select Stone Island retail spots.
