If you’re wondering how Jimmy Gorecki got his “Jimmy Sweatpants” moniker, it happened when he met Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt and in the spirit of the moment introduced himself as the other, bottom half. The name stuck. While he does own his own “sweatpants” company JSP, Gorecki is best known around the So-Cal area as a true “Jack of All Trades.” A professional skater at one time and a team rider for both Zoo York and BBC Ice Cream, he’s now an official at the Street League Skateboarding, the first professional league for street-style skateboarding. And when Disney’s sitcom Zeke and Luther needed a technical adviser, Gorecki was there to fill the role as the show’s Professional Skateboarding Consultant. As if that wasn’t enough, he’s also the head of marketing/advertising at Gourmet Footwear NFN.
Just like his half a dozen or so jobs, skating comes naturally for Gorecki. So when he suggested a favorite skate ground nearby, everyone happily tagged along. In a complete ensemble of grey tee with Supreme x Champion sweatpants, he switched out from his Visvim Moc Folk and into his skate shoe - a pair of Air Jordan 4. In between tricks, breaks and more tricks, Gorecki shared stories of old, like the origin of Jimmy Sweatpants, and new aspirations, such as making the best sweatpants money can buy.
