First announced by Nike PR Director Heidi Burgett via Twitter, Nike made an official statement early yesterday that it will be delaying the launch of LeBron 12 till further notice. Meant to be the inaugural event ahead of LeBron James’ official return to the Cleveland Cavaliers later this month, the Nike LeBron 12 was to be the most technically advance shoe developed by Nike Basketball. Citing “small cosmetic issue” with some of its inventory, Nike decided to push back the release dates, originally slated for October 1st to the Greater China region, follow by a global push on October 11th. Stay tuned as more information, as well as the new release date, to come soon.
Product quality is a priority for Nike. Due to a small cosmetic issue with some of the LEBRON 12 shoes we have delayed the initial retail launch that was scheduled for China on October 1, and the global launch that was scheduled for October 11. We will communicate an update on the retail date as soon as possible.
