Last week in our Fresh & Creative segment, we presented you with an interview with Paul Lindahal, Vice-President of Colossal Media, the largest outdoor mural painting company in the world. In that segment, we displayed some of Colossal’s finest work, from replicating work for KAWS and Banksy to posting up the Supreme box logo. We also had the opportunity, as we do in all of our Fresh & Creative segments, to get a peek behind the scenes. At their Brooklyn Warehouse, we got to see how the company has progressed in 10 years. The operation began using one of the founders’ grandfather’s Ford Pickup and sharing a space with no bathroom. A decade later, you can spot the Colossal “Wall Dogs” on scaffoldings across the nation.
Last week, we tagged along with the Colossal artists to a site in Bushwick, Brooklyn and toured the warehouse. Follow us as we reveal some of what goes on inside (and on top of) the places where the painters use age-old techniques to produce work that looks and feels infinitely more fascinating than your average vinyl sign with stickers. Click through to take a walk with us seeing the men and women who make up the company who promises to “Always Hand Paint.”
