How mind-bogglingly complex is the steering wheel on the Porsche 919? There are a total of 24 buttons, 6 paddles and 5 rotary dials, all of which combine with a multi-function display, making up the main controls on the yoke-shaped wheel that steers the hybrid car. The most frequently used buttons occupy the top outer edge so that they can be easily reached by the driver's thumbs. They include the right blue button activating the headlight flasher -- alerting slower drivers they're about to be passed -- and a red button on the opposite side that delivers a temporary performance boost. Study up on Porsche's virtual handheld "computer" in the graphic below, and keep in mind the drivers don't have the luxury of time at the 24 Hours of Lemans.
