Alexander Wang x H&M Runway Presentation
The scope of Alexander Wang‘s futuristic take on gym wear was on fully display through the lookbook for his upcoming collection for H&M, and last night the monochrome sporting vision sprang to life at a launch event in front of a captive audience. The runway presentation at the Armory on the Hudson — normally the venue for a variety of indoor athletic events — maintained the trappings’ competitive spirit, featuring a catwalk marked with running track lines. The form-fitting apparel used glossy and leathers and a wide range of synthetic materials, while lizard-skin basketballs and face masks borrowed from Rip Hamilton’s locker added a theatrical dimension to the dystopian-future sportswear.
