An electrical engineer and novice cyclist living in Seattle, Pete Clyde has spent the better part of three years developing the Orfos Flare, billed as the safest bike light ever created. What sets the magnet-mounted Orfos Flare apart is 360 degree visibility, with a brightness output of up to 300 red and 500 white lumens (making it brighter than a chemical flare). It's also waterproof and rechargeable, featuring a LiFePO4 cell battery that lasts up to 24 hours on a single 90-minute charge. The build weighs in at 100g and uses a polycarbonate shell inside clear silicone, with a mounting system utilizing N52 grade neodymium, the strongest grade of magnet that can be produced.
