It was bound to happen. Shortly after news broke of a the world’s first working hoverboard, AeroMobil announced their third prototype for an actual flying car. A quote from the father of Ford Motors, Henry Ford rests beneath the image of what may be our future – “Mark my word: A combination airplane and motorcar is coming. You may smile, but it will come.” Nearly 75 years later, Ford may be the one to have the last laugh. The AeroMobil has all the functions of a normal car, using gas and fitting into any normal parking space, but doubles as an aircraft, being able to take off and land using only a few hundred meters of grass or paved surface. Using a Rotax 912 engine, its top speed is 124 mph in the air and 100 mph on the ground. As of now, the AeroMobil only has two seats, but who knows what the future will bring.
