The New Balance 530 flew a bit under the radar after its initial release in the early 1990’s, perhaps a result of the popularity of the Nike Air Max series. 2014 has seen the 530 burst back onto the scene however, with a host of colorways ranging from 90’s inspired neons to more modern suedes. Just as he did last year, Ronnie Fieg is once again primed and ready to drop two more NB collabs on us this winter season, the first of which, is the Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 530. Dressed in a maroon, yellow and grey upper, the shoes take inspiration from the New York City parks, sporting the NYC Parks leaf logo on the tongue, as well as topographical maps on the insoles and NYC street sign typography. As Fieg is known to do, these have a host of different types of materials, including a micro-perforated leather (ala the Daytona’s) on the toe, premium 530 branded leather on the heel, and perhaps the most notable of all a quilted pigskin suede on the toebox. Check out a few more images below, care of RF himself, and stay tuned for further details on the release of these.
