Detroit's Burn Rubber has teamed up once again with New Balance, coming together on the 572 silhouette as the collaborative canvas. Staying true to their roots, the Burn Rubber crew took inspiration from a homegrown fixture native to their home state of Michigan: Vernors, the oldest surviving ginger ale brand in the U.S. Historic lore has James Vernor creating the refreshment in 1866 Detroit, having returning from the Civil War to find that the beverage he'd left in an oak cast barrel had developed a sweet, gingery flavor. Consequently, the shoe is adorned with a subtle wood-grain print on the toe box, while the green and yellow color palette reflects the soda's signature packaging. A translucent gurm rubber outsole completes the look. The Burn Rubber x New Balance 572 launches November 29th through Burn Rubber's online store.
