To end 2014 on a high note, Heineken announced its latest collaboration with Los Angeles based eyewear brand Garrett Leight California Optical (GLCO) as part of the 2014 #Heineken100 initiative. Curated by UNION Los Angeles’ proprietor Chris Gibbs, the Heineken x Garrett Leight California Optical for #Heineken100 will be the project’s last for 2014, which previously saw collaborations with premium leather good brand Parabellum and fashion label RTH. Created within certain specifications set by Gibbs, GLCO’s Garrett Leight outfitted the popular Kinney acetate frames with his signature zero-based, green lenses.
“I was thrilled to partner with Chris Gibbs and Heineken® for the #Heineken100 program,” said Leight when asked about the #Heineken100 Project. “The collaborative process was very inspiring- Chris pushed me to try something totally new - and I’m really proud of what we’ve come up with.”

As a way to demonstrate the creative process, Heineken x Garrett Leight California Optical for #Heineken100 exclusive sunglasses will not be available for sale. Instead, 100 of these rare specimens will be share among 100 influential tastemakers across the U.S. later this month. However, the project also opened other collaborative possibilities in the near future.
