Every carmaker has a certain demographic in mind when they are designing a car and in the case of the just unveiled Hyundai Santa Cruz Crossover Truck Concept, that person is the "urban adventurer." Joining the set of vehicles already launched at the North American International Auto Show, the Hyundai Santa Cruz Crossover Truck concept was built to be compact and maneuverable to navigate the urban jungle, but big and tough enough to hit the dirt on the weekend and haul some cargo in between. In fact, Hyundai even calls this concept a reworking of the utility truck for the Millennial generation, combining all-wheel-drive power, a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine with 190 hp, and a modern look, with strong fuel economy (30mpg), space for five, and enough space in the bed to haul a good amount of gear. In terms of looks, the hexagonal grille paired with the honeycombed headlamps offer a unique look while the bed can be extended to accommodate longer cargo. Although its still in the concept phase, Hyundai is hoping for a strong start, targeting non-traditional pick-up customers and offering perks for younger and female drivers. While more tweaks are sure to come, it's worth a good look after the click.
