Maharishi – Fall/Winter 2015 Collection | Runway Show
Maharishi founder and creative director Hardy Blechman has been studying martial arts for the better part of his life, something that was readily apparent in the brand’s Fall/Winter 2015 presentation at London Collections: Men. The various street-ready looks drew on the stealthy functionality of a ninja’s uniform, with black drop-crotch pants paired with matching full-length sweaters. The Eastern cultural influences combined with the other prevailing inspiration of the collection — namely, military garb, full of camo prints, nylon flight jackets, balaclavas and what looked to be map co-ordinates printed on sweatshirts. The dominant color palette of blacks and olive greens was sleek and utilitarian, resulting in an aesthetic uniquely suited for the times.
