John Varvatos - Fall/Winter 2015 Collection | Runway Show
This past weekend John Varvatos took to Milan Fashion Week to showcase his Fall/Winter 2015 collection, described by the American menswear designer as "a dandy in New York." More specifically, Varvatos took inspiration from a single image: a Richard Avedon photo of Bob Dylan in Central Park from 1965. Consequently, the runway was generously littered with fall leaves, flanked on each side with park-bench seating. The silhouettes on display were severely slim, the fabrics -- full of tweeds, velvet and leather -- befitting a transplanted Englishman, and the color palette skewed toward appealing earth tones. Even as top hats and shades completed many of the looks, each model had the air of a bedroom rock star who should be hauling around a guitar case.
