When he was at the drawing board for his latest project, Deus Customs' designer Michael Woolaway wanted to "recreate the feel of the 1960s Ferraris" that he grew up with; "When you opened the hood, all you found was a motor, coils, distributor, and a battery." And that's exactly what one lucky Deus customer will receive with the shop's latest custom: the Deus Dreamliner. After passing over the red one-piece chromoly frame, your eye is understandably drawn toward the 750cc two-valve Ducati engine. While not the strongest engine from the Italian race group, the air-cooled, 90-degree desmo V-twin engine is the perfect compromise between form and function, paired with custom exhaust headers with a pair of Cone Engineering mufflers for a smooth and responsive street bike. The 17-inch spoke wheels are attached to Öhlins forks for a look inspired by the 1970's Imola Desmo racebike, which combine with the custom-built shock system for a sporty feel. Matching with the Deus brand's signature racebike style, the tanks and seat were also refined to match that of Ducati, shaped out of extremely light 1100 aluminum alloy and coated with a waterproof leather seat pad with double tuck stitching. While this is clearly a one-off custom for a lucky buyer, those within riding distance of LA can see the Dreamliner in person at the Deus store in Venice Beach this Saturday, January 24. Otherwise, continue after the jump to see more of this dream come true.
