At Paris Fashion Week, Riccardo Tisci explained he was going “back to the roots” in unveiling Givenchy‘s Fall/Winter 2015 menswear collection, which meant exploring the Italian designer’s dark side. Tisci has always harbored a fascination with religious iconography and the occult, and both were on full display through the black and red color palette, as well as Pat McGrath’s fiendish makeup work. As for the clothes, all of Tisci’s signature touches were presented and accounted for, including the muscular tailoring — seen on pinstripe-on-pinstripe getups — along with street-ready sweatshirts and the liberal use of eye-catching prints, which oftentimes took the form of Moroccan rug motifs. The devil, as it were, was in the details.
