Attendees at Thom Browne‘s Fall/Winter 2015 show in Paris were indeed treated to a show, in the fullest sense of the word. What would become a funereal tableau started with a lone figure — Michael — getting out of bed, slipping on a black suit and moving through three blank white rooms, eventually unfurling curtains that turned the white set black. The character would ultimately succumb, and with that, the second act took over, featuring a lengthy funeral procession appropriately attired in black. The falling black ash added another romantic element to the androgynous accessories, all taffeta, lace and fur. The lasting impression: Byron by way of Browne.
