Ahead of the larger Andy Warhol x Converse collection set to launch next month, the two names will release an extremely limited All Star Chuck ’70, a near exact replica of Andy Warhol's original Converse All Star. The piece was created during the mid-1980’s, when Warhol returned to the newspaper advertisements that had informed his earlier work. In the midst of this creative renaissance, Warhol conceived Converse All Star, using a pair of his own Chucks as the canvas. The artist applied various hand-screened graphics in conjunction with paintings, prints and drawings, resulting in a piece that's currently displayed as part of the permanent collection at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Limited to only 200 pairs, the Converse Andy Warhol All Star Chuck '70 is priced at $150 and is set to launch January 31st through select Converse retailers in North America.
