Engineered Garments Fall/Winter 2015 Collection Lookbook
Engineered Garments mastermind Daiki Suzuki has built a cult-like following for his workwear inspired brand since its debut in 2004. Keen observers habitually chart thematic variations that transpire with each passing season, but the upcoming Fall/Winter 2015 collection announces a stylistic shift in bold block letters. And those letters spell out the word "black," a color seldom seen in the Engineered Garments playbook. But fans shouldn't get too hung up on the unexpected shade, as the main draw here is the use of different fabrics -- ranging from bouclé with embroidery to bonded cable-knit -- as well as length and proportion. While Suzuki points to New York and Tokyo in the '70s and '80s as the primary design inspirations for the collection, there's a timeless quality here that transcends genre expectations.
