Nike is set to launch the SNKRS app, a new platform for sneaker addicts to procure their coveted kicks. The app is positioned as a one-stop sneaker shop offering premium Nike sneakers, drawn from popular Swoosh franchises including Air Force 1, Air Max, Foamposite, Jordan and Nike SB. In addition to access to exclusive content, users can customize their experience by following their preferred Nike franchises, as well as set notifications for upcoming releases and track the status of a specific order. Shoppers can also store personal profiles to expedite the check out process. Nike SNKRS will launch later this spring for iOS, with an Android version to follow.
Beginning February 12 at 8 a.m. EST, early access will be available to a limited number of consumers in the U.S. In New York City, from February 12 – 15, consumers can register for access to the Zoom City SNKRS Station at the corner of 348 Bowery and Great Jones to get SNKRS installed on an iOS device. New Yorkers can also follow @nikeNYC for questions and clues about sneaker culture and popular Nike franchises. Those questions will point to a specific New York City location where Nike ambassadors will hand out early access codes to Nike SNKRS. Non-New Yorkers can go here to sign up for early access.
