The Fall/Winter 2015 range for Bespoken wears the label’s pedigree on its collective sleeve, which isn’t surprising, considering the brothers who founded the brand — Liam and Sammy Fayed — grew up in the world of haberdashery. (Their father, Ali-Al Fayed, owns the historical British clothier Turnbull & Asser, who’s dressed both Prince Charles and James Bond.) So it makes sense, then, that notwithstanding Bespoken is based in New York City, the aesthetic is inspired by the esteemed tailoring heritage of Savile Row. For Fall/Winter 2015, the goods pay homage to New York City and London commuters, conferring a modern edge to traditional silhouettes. Paint splatter designs bring a shot of energy to a crisp white shirt, while a boiled wool sweater brings warmth to windowpane plaid suit. Elsewhere, cargo pockets and slip-on sneakers are additional indicators of the burgeoning youth movement in menswear.
