J.Crew Fall/Winter 2015 Menswear Collection
In formulating the direction of J.Crew's Fall/Winter 2015 collection, Frank Muytjens, the head of men's design, was inspired by army and navy surplus items that he saw last year at a vintage army show in the south of England. Consequently, the collection places a premium on functionality, like cargo pockets on slim-fitting wool trousers and military detailing on the moderately slouchy topcoats. Standout pieces include a slightly oversized wool snorkel jacket with faux fur trim on the hood, and double-breasted suiting in sleek, modern silhouettes. The quality fabrications, textures and considered details are impressive enough to warrant a trip your local mall.
