The new Mercedes-Benz G 500 4 x 4² Concept is getting locked and loaded and ready for release and we’ve got the detailed images to prove it. Although MB is still in there doing some final touches to the soft-top off-roader, many of the main components are in place, including an AMG front bumper, carbon fiber flares, and a roof-mounted LED light bar. The undercarriage is also protected with stainless steel underbody guards to help with dicey terrain along with a side-exiting exhaust and 22-inch wheels, each with two springs/struts per wheel. Under the hood, power is generated by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 422 HP, resulting in, what MB claims is more like a “sports car rather than a cross-country vehicle.” While interior shots haven’t been released, MB wasn’t shy about sharing other data, including its 1000mm fording depth, 450mm of ground clearance, and emissions that meet Euro 6 standards. No release timeline has been detailed yet, but that can be expected soon now that photos are in circulation.
