Aston Martin has officially unveiled what the brand is calling its “most intense and exhilarating creation to date”: the new limited edition Vulcan. For those keeping track at home, you may remember that the Vulcan is the only track-only supercar specifically-designed to target the world’s best cars and it has the aggressive look to match. With a massive grille, a unique front fascia, and a number of classic AM styling cues, you'll either love it or hate it, but you'll definitely respect it. In fitting with its track car purpose, the Vulcan features a carbon fiber monocoque and a number of bespoke components, including suspension, adjustable dampers, and anti-roll bars joined with a variable traction control system, limited-slip differential, and racing calipers and discs. Motivation is provided by a naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V12 engine that produces more than 800 bhp, controlled with a six-speed manual transmission. All told, we’d have to agree with AM CEO Andy Palmer that the Vulcan is a “rare and thrilling supercar” that sets a new standard for ultra-high luxury. Topping it off, buyers of the 24 units will be offered the chance to participate in an extensive track training program to build track techniques before pushing the Vulcan’s limits. Not a bad deal if you have the cash at hand.
