You should feel pretty lucky. Why’s that? Because you get a chance to lay eyes on the new Audi Prologue Avant concept without having to head all the way to Geneva for next month’s motor show. Aside from what Audi calls its “new interpretation of the Avant philosophy” in terms of its styling, the other key distinguishing factor has to be its plug-in hybrid power system, which consists of a 3.0-liter TDI engine joined with an electric motor and 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. This set-up allows this Audi to produce a combined output of 455 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque, driving it to hit 62mph in 5.1 seconds before topping out at 155mph. The most impressive stat, however, is its 147 mpg US and up to 33.6 mi on electricity alone. Outside, muscular fenders, chiseled bodywork, and sensor-operated doors mark the exterior while tastefully functional leather and wood trim treat the clean interior.
