German sportswear label PUMA recently got together with Vashtie Kola for a collaboration that will debut later this week. Kola, sometimes better recognized as “Va$htie”, is well known in the New York City downtown scene as a designer, artist, director and filmmaker, among many other things. For over a decade, she has been at the forefront of fashion and has solidified her status as a style icon. This collection takes inspiration from NYC nightlife and the urban music and lifestyle scene of the 80s and 90s. The range includes unisex apparel pieces as well as PUMA classics such as the Suede and T7. “As a child I was drawn toward skateboarding and alternative music and looked to PUMA for fashion trends. I’m excited to create this collection that pays homage to my childhood and New York’s underground scene,” she said in a statement. The PUMA x Vashtie Kola Collection will be available starting February 28 at participating retailers including Epitome, Bait, Revolve and select PUMA Lab powered by Foot Locker locations.
