Legendary basketball player and sneaker icon Michael Jordan is now officially a billionaire. According to Forbes, he is now worth $1 billion, making him the 513th richest person in the United States and 1,741st in the world. Last year, Jordan's bank account saw a huge jump after the Los Angeles Clippers were sold to Steve Ballmer for $2 billion, which upped the ante big time for NBA franchises in the league. MJ's stake in the Charlotte Hornets went from $410 million to $725 million. Additionally, his deal with Nike brings in over $90 million a year along with the cashflow he gets from a long list of endorsements he still holds. This new milestone makes Jordan the world's only active or retired billionaire athlete.
