Land Rover, after plenty of rumors, has officially announced their plans to release the Range Rover Evoque Convertible in 2016. In line with their chosen set for their photos and accompanying video, much about the final vehicle specs and performance are still in a controlled environment, but testing of the final design is clearly well underway. The exact location of that testing, in fact, is 40 meters below the streets of London in a 26-mile network of Crossrail tunnels, which allows Range Rover engineers to fully test the crossover in privacy with the top back. While the scenery isn't clearly the best and this isn't the kind of wind you want blowing through your hair, it's clear there's still fun to be had behind the wheel. Needless to say, expect to be hearing and seeing far more of this latest toy from Range Rover in the months to come. Until then, enjoy a taste of the fun after the jump.
