Omega continues to look back on their adventures into space with the limited edition Omega Speedmaster Apollo 13 Silver Snoopy Award watch. While its equal in quality as the Omega Speedmaster Moon Collection and similar in theme, Omega is certainly dialing down the seriousness by paying tribute to the 45th Anniversary of the failed Apollo 13 mission as well as the Silver Snoopy Award that NASA presented to Omega in 1970 for their work on the Apollo program. The design itself sees a 42mm crisp white dial with a throwback Cal 1891 movement inside alongside a slew of references to all of the Apollo missions, including lucky 13. The back of the watch sees the Silver Snoopy, NASA's safety mascot, with a thought bubble from Apollo 13 (the movie) noting "Failure is not an option," joined with a napping Snoopy in the seconds sub-dial. Finally, special attention is also paid to the 14-seconds on the dial, which is a reference to the 14 second course correction performed by the crew following the oxygen tank explosion that allowed them to return safely to home. This Omega will come with a black nylon strap, Silver Snoopy pins, a dedicated newspaper, and a special edition case, all for 6,100 CHF. Production is limited to 1970 pieces.
