Lately, a lot of attention has been paid to the post-Moon family of Speedmasters, but this year's Baselworld sees Omega return to pay tribute to the original Speedmaster: the '57. The '57, of course, is the father of all those we have seen since and this year's edition brings together the new technology of this millennium with the beauty of the original (plus a few nice refinements). The last picture featured after the jump is the '57, to which the retro mostly respects, including the original case shape, brushed steel finish, piston pushers, and even the tachometer scale. The only big difference lies in the use of two sub-dials today compared to the original's three, which is accomplished with the use of Omega's 9300 movement that allows for the chronograph's hour and minute indicators to be joined together. Finally, the 2015 still offers 60 hours of power reserve and the option of a leather strap or brushed steel clasp, just like the OG. The ultimate combination of modern mechanics and original Omega styling, this Speedmaster is available now at the Omega watch site.
