Following several long months of speculation, Jay Z finally announced TIDAL, the first artist-owned music streaming service. Yesterday's star-studded ceremony included some of the biggest names in the industry, including Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Daft Punk, Madonna, Usher and more, with Calvin Harris and Chris Martin joining in via webcam. TIDAL will offer CD-quality audio and high-definition music videos at $9.99 a month for standard sound and $19.99 for High Fidelity sound. "We want to create a better service and a better experience for both fans and artists, and that is our promise to the world," said Keys. TIDAL will compete with similar services like Spotify, Deezer and the soon-to-be-launched Beats. To find out more or subscribe, head over to their website and be sure to check out the clip below.
