With the New York Auto Show in full swing, Porsche is beginning to share with the world more detailed images of their new 2016 Boxster Spyder. Designed with Porsche purists in mind, this 2016 model features Cayman GT4-inspired bumpers and a new lightweight soft-top, which, when tucked back, reveals a cabin as sporty as the car's performance specs, including new sports seats and steering wheel designs. Under the new engine cover, you'll find a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that puts out 375 HP with the help of a manual trans, propelling the car to 62mph in 4.5 seconds before topping out at 180mph. A reduced ride height (by 20mm), new high performance brakes, a new sports suspension, and an improved steering system configuration round out the highlights for 2016. The 2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder will hit German dealers in July followed by an American launch in October with prices beginning at $82,100.
